Hello, Kiddies!
Welcome to the Sunday Special! Each week we'll go into things in a little more depth and spend a little more time getting to know a plugin, virtual instrument or production.
This week we're taking an in-depth look at the new plugin from United Plugins and Firesonic, the Firepressor. We all know that dynamics are best handled in stages and the Firepressor is four compressors in one plugin.
We'll take a detailed look at how the Firepressor performs by using it to mix a short production I put together using some free loops from the good people at Function Loops. We'll test out the Firepressor on Vocals, Bass, Drums, Percussion, Guitar, Pad, and keys; and of course, the stereo bus.
In doing so, we'll work through the various functions of the Firepressor from blending the four compression flavors and re-arranging the signal chain. We'll also work through the Firepressor's "Trigger Options", which include stereo link, attack & release, and high & low pass filters. We'll also tackle the "Turbo" and "Saturation" tools as well as the "wet/dry" mix and "input/output" levels.
You can demo the Firepressor yourself via the United Plugins Website:
You can catch free loop packs via the Function Loops website.
